The people management platform driving engagement, performance, and growth
HQ: San Francisco, CA, United States (HR-remote) | Founded: 2015 | Employees: ~700-900 (2025, est.) | Stage: Series F (~$3B, 2022); private (2025 data-center+AI expansion) | Website: https://lattice.com
Lattice was founded in 2015 by Jack Altman (brother of OpenAI's Sam Altman) and Eric Koslow, who met while working together at Teespring (they both left; Koslow had a data-science background and Altman a product background). The pair launched through Y Combinator's W16 batch to fix broken, infrequent performance reviews — the thesis being that employees deserve continuous, meaningful performance and growth conversations, not annual rituals.\n\nThe platform grew into a full people-management suite: Performance (reviews, check-ins, 360s), Engagement (pulse surveys and analytics), Goals/OKRs, and later Compensation and Career/Growth modules — plus native AI features (Lattice AI for drafting reviews, creating goals, summarizing survey data). It's used by over 4,000+ companies across industries
