machine0 gives AI agents their own cloud computers. The command is designed to be simple enough that an agent can use it without instructions: one line creates a machine you can log into, with a fixed address and a secure web endpoint, that keeps running until you switch it off. Customers pay by the minute, starting at about 1.3 cents an hour for a small machine with one processor core and 1 GB of memory, scaling to 60 cores, 240 GB of memory and eight H100 chips for AI workloads. Machines can be paused when idle, copied once set up correctly, and are built on NixOS for reproducible setups. A feature called Profiles bundles the passwords, prompts and tool connections a machine is allowed, so each agent gets exactly what it needs and nothing more. Agents can manage their own fleet, creating a machine for a build, saving it, then shutting it down. Founded in 2026 in San Francisco by sole founder Barnaby Malet, previously chief technology officer at Upflow (YC W20).
machine0's bet is that agents have stopped being short-lived scripts and started running for hours or days. A laptop is the wrong place for that: a few agents at once exhaust its memory and processor, closing the lid kills a job mid-task, and giving an agent full access to your machine means one malicious instruction hidden in a web page could leak your passwords. machine0's fix is to give every agent its own cloud computer that it creates itself, with only the access you choose. The open question is whether per-agent machines become a real category or just a feature the big clouds add.
