Inflection AI was founded in early 2022 by Mustafa Suleyman (DeepMind co-founder), LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and DeepMind principal scientist Karén Simonyan. Incubated at Greylock Partners where Suleyman and Hoffman were partners, its mission was to build personal AI for everyone — an empathetic, trustworthy companion called Pi (Personal Intelligence) powered by frontier in-house models Inflection-1, Inflection-2 and Inflection-2.5.
