Mass-produced portable nuclear microreactors — the SpaceX way

Radiant was founded in 2020 by Doug Bernauer, a 12-year SpaceX engineer who had been charged with exploring nuclear power for Mars colonization, and Bob Urberger. When SpaceX's Mars program shifted, Bernauer realized the same need — compact, reliable, transportable power — was unsolved on Earth, where diesel generators power military bases, disaster zones, and remote industry. Kaleidos, Radiant's answer, is a high-temperature gas-cooled microreactor of roughly 1.2MWe designed to fit in a shipping-container-sized package, be truck-transportable, and be mass-produced rather than site-built.
